JA had mentioned a couple of weeks ago that he damaged his chain and could not put a new one on because the cogs were worn too much. What I do is use 2 chains, and swap them every 3 rides or so, so that way everything wears down evenly and extends the life of the drivetrain. Just pick up a couple of SRAM power links to make the swap simple and quick.

Thats what I do too.

I take the dirty chain and put it in a used Vitamin water bottle filled with simple green, shake it and let it sit overnight. The next day I pull it out of the bottle and let it dry. Then I lube it and put it in a ziploc bag until its time to use it. It keeps the chain in perfect condition using this method.
