Never had a Garmin fall off before, but it did. Normally I look at it fairly often, but today I was more focused on the trail and didn't notice it was missing until I'd ridden about 3 or so miles. I back tracked, but given that it could be anywhere in a 3 mi trail I didn't know exactly where to look. It's probably gone at this point, but if you happen to be riding Par 5 and find a Garmin 800 let me know.

Definitely a lesson for me as far as keeping tabs on the Garmin. Never had it fall off before -- even after bad spills it has stayed intact. Small win (if you can call it that) is that I bought it used and will likely buy another used one. The $ hit is not as bad as it might be.

I'll check into a leash mechanism too, but I was thinking just moving it to the handle bar next to the stem vs. on the stem might protect it from the occasional bump.

Thanks again Russ. It was definitely mine and above is the track and location of exactly where it was lost on Par 5.
