So Mike T and I got talking about the filming going on in Douglas and elsewhere for the movie and I mentioned I had seen a documentary about the forest a few years back. Thought I'd pass it along if in case anyone was interested in knowing what it's about.

It's not a happy video.

Had heard about this place before, thanks for sharing.

I work for a Japanese company and some of their customs/traditions are downright strange when compared to many westerners.

That's pretty powerful. Sad, but kudos to that guy. He has his head screwed on straight.

Something must be wrong in the Japanese culture for all these people to want to do this.

Has anyone seen the movie? They auditioned my house for the one used by Matthew M's character, but ultimately chose one a block away at the bottom of my hill. The movie was panned at Cannes as too sentimental and didn't get a theatrical release as a result. But it would be fun to watch it on video.

I did see and enjoyed the movie. Was a bit surprised by the poor reviews. Certainly not an uplifting story but interesting and of course cool scenery!

Yes, I saw it and liked it as well. Hard to place some of the scenery though, not having spent as much time in those woods as y'all.
