The good news nobody drowned today and the streams kept everyone nice and cool.
The bad news was a few missed turns so we'll work on that for next week.

Karen 24.11
Derek 24.41 (put a bigger gear on next week)
Ernie 24.53
Laura 28.11
Chris Bu 28.19
Brandon 28.23
Amar 42.05 (did extra)
Jason 46.24 (did extra)

It seems that there is not much interest in the time trial series. Makes me wonder if it is worth the effort to prep and mark the course and get eaten by bugs while timming. What does everyone think?

Thanks for timing Laura! It was a fun course, I'll have to work on my spinning :-/

I have to agree Bill, interest has morphed more into group casual rides than TT's. I'd hate to see them go, but I felt bad for Laura seeing the bugs were the worst last night.

I don't race, as you all know, but I've always enjoyed checking out our various time trial loops. Looking forward to riding Laura's soon.

I like when a new ride location is used as a TT. Never would have gone to Pisgah twice, Cove Farm, Johnny Rockets, Paintball....Thanks, Laura and Derek for your venues.
That being said, I plead guilty to being lazy, old, fat, busy and unmotivated. I know I need to embrace the pain and humble pie to slow down the body rot. Without the TT's I might have to race on the weekend (TVR, OMG , that would really suck.)
They shouldn't go away, but its not worth the bug bites if the attendance isn't there.
What do the hosts have to say?

I am hosting a TT after Laura's. I have no problem doing the work if more riders will show up. I promise " It's all downhill". Maybe we should incorporate some observed trials sections to add some spice or run a tourist class that is untimed. I, myself really have to talk myself into trying to "go fast" and get more smiles just riding along.

I'd hate to see them go after all these years. With my new job and coaching the kids league, I can't get to all the TT's but I still enjoy them. They have been good tools for some of the kids on my team as well. I ran a TT for 10 years but I just can't commit to one right now, maybe in the fall or next year. Since I have spent many Tuesday getting eaten alive by bugs, I know its not a pleasant experience. If they go away, I'll probably do something for the kids. I have been running TT's at west hill on Sat's as well. They get kids in shape fast!

I'll show up for an untimed ride-through. I would have last week but couldn't make it to Millbury before dark so had to ride in Douglas. I second Mike T's point about all the different venues being fun.

I'm going to try to get Keenan there next week. Tuesday's have turned into a tough day for me schedule wise.

11 people were there Tuesday which is more than show up for a ride so....
and you don't have to be timed, if someone wants to ride a new loop, enjoy a cleaned course and take in the scenery that's fine. The main thing is to get out there!
For whatever reason attendance is down at all activities but hopefully the trend will reverse itself.

Laura, would you be interested in leading another spring mini epic this year? Last year's was fun (except for Russ who broke his bike).
